Do you hunt on your land? If so, we provide a wide variety of services to make your land more attractive to game. This is the part of the forest management that is our true passion. We use a variety of annual and perennial seeds to give deer and other game a year-round supply of food. We can cover anything from a small hunting plot to a couple of acres with food plots.
How can this benefit the game on your land?
- One, it gives the game more reason to stick around. If they know that food can be found there, they will stay on your property.
- Two, the better nutrition that animals have, the better your chances are of bagging that trophy animal. For example, the size of a deer's antlers relies on two things; their genetics and the food they have to eat.
The best way to keep deer or any other wildlife on your property is to combine cutting some timber to give them cover and add in a few food plots. The deer and other wildlife will not want to leave your land.
One thing to keep in mind is that the cost of installing some food plots and maintaining them for years to come can all be covered by the money you make from having us cut some of your timber. This also provides cover for the wildlife. It is win-win for everyone.
